Hi - This info is way out of my league...but I'm hoping someone reading this can help me.

I moved to Israel in September and subscribed to watching baseball games in the U.S. via the internet on www.mlb.tv.

I find that if I watch games at 8 p.m. local time, the connection is slow thus low image quality, even though my bandwidth is 5 MB from my ISP. If I'm up at 2 a.m. however to watch a game, no problems...great video quality.

I'm gathering from the above article that the distance (Israel and U.S.) is what's causing the problem. Is there anything I can do about this?

I would so appreciate if someone can help. I miss my baseball! Thanks.

Have the Martians been alerted to this new TCP/IP standard? They are still reading my mind at 142 bits / sec.

This writeup is really only a "first order approximation" -- things are actually quite a bit more complex...
